Service and Hospitality
Instructor: Miss Flax   
Service and Hospitality Class is community based.  Juniors participate in On The Job Training in local hotels, hospitals and nursing homes.  Seniors participate in independent employment in a work/study setting.  Students focus on transferable skills necessary for successful employment in the hotel and lodging industry:  customer service, front desk, banquet set-up and service, restaurant set-up and service, dietary-aide, laundry, and housekeeping.  This program is guided by OHLA, the Ohio Hotel and Lodging Association. 

Class Announcements
Spring Break
Springfield Clark CTC will be closed March 29 - April 2 for Spring Break.  Classes will resume on April 5.
Fairfield Inn
Students will job shadow March 22-25 and the Fairfield Inn.
OGT
OGT's will be given March 15-19.  Students needing to take the tests will be pulled from their regularly scheduled classes.  We will have our regular school schedule.
CPR
The a.m. class will receive CPR instruction on March 11 and 12.  Students must be present both days to become certified.
Power of One Competition
Power of One books will be judged on Saturday, March 13 at Tolles Careere Center in Plain City.  On this day, the results of the Skill Events will also be announced.  We will take a bus from CTC.  The bus will leave at 8 a.m. and return between 2 and 3 p.m.
Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday to Shaquan Terry on March 7, Jay Laws on March 8, Shelby Rhea Richardson on March 14, and Christina Baas on March 22.
Senior Class Meeting
The seniors will meet Thursday, March 25.  Please have work journals and reports ready to turn in on this day.  The rough draft for your senior project is due.  Questions about your senior projects can be answered on this day.  We will eat in the Jaguar Room and take anew class picture.
Out of Uniform Day
Students may be out of uniform on the following days:  March 5 and March 19.  Please follow the CTC dress code - no shorts, no tank tops, no flip flops, no sweats. 
Seniors - Employment
Seniors need to secure paid employment during the senior year.  All students should be employed by September 30.  After October 30, any student not employed may be subject to grade deductions.
Uniforms
Students need to wear their class scrubs to school each day, including Fridays.  UNIFORMS NEED TO BE CLEAN AND WRINKLE-FREE!  Miss Flax will notify you of  any "out of uniform days."  Students are not to wear hoodies or coats in classrooms.  This is not part of the uniform.  Hoodies and coats are not sanitary and they do not look professional.  Plan ahead for cold weather and wear a long sleeved black shirt underneath your uniform.
